How we handle your details.

This policy describes what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you can ask us to delete it. We've kept it plain because the law is already complicated enough.

01What we collect

When you fill in a form on this site — contact, warranty claim, dealer application — we collect the fields you type and nothing else. No hidden form fields, no fingerprinting.
When you visit any page, our server log records the URL, timestamp, browser user-agent, and approximate city derived from your IP address. Logs roll off after 30 days.
If you are a Polaris Pro dealer logging in to the portal, we record your session tokens and the orders you place. That record is kept for seven years for tax and warranty reasons.

02Cookies and tracking

We use one session cookie for the dealer portal and one preference cookie that remembers your language (EN / FR). That's it — no advertising pixels, no cross-site trackers, no Google Analytics.
We check anonymised aggregate traffic through our hosting provider's built-in analytics (Vercel Analytics), which does not use cookies or personal identifiers.

03Who sees your data

Messages you send us are read by the team member whose desk the form is addressed to — sales, warranty, press, etc. Our team totals forty-two people.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with marketing partners. We share it only with regulators when required by law (warranty claims sometimes end up filed with the Office de la protection du consommateur du Québec, with your consent).

04Retention and deletion

Contact-form submissions are purged after 90 days unless you've become a dealer or warranty-claim customer, in which case we keep the related records for the life of the business relationship plus seven years.
You can email privacy@northstar.bp at any time to request a copy of the data we hold about you, or to delete it. We respond inside ten business days.

05Jurisdiction

NorthStar Building Products Ltée is a Québec-incorporated company subject to the provincial Loi sur la protection des renseignements personnels dans le secteur privé (Law 25) and, where applicable, Canada's PIPEDA.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, UK, or California, your respective privacy frameworks apply in addition. Email privacy@northstar.bp and we'll handle the request under the appropriate law.
